WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Physiotherapy uses techniques to help restore movement and function to anyone affected by an injury, disability or health condition.
A physio will use their in-depth knowledge of how the body works, combined with hands-on clinical skills, to assess, diagnose and treat your symptoms. They can even help you prevent many injuries and health conditions.
All appointments at Tarawera Physio are 25 minutes of one-on-one treatment time. We start by asking questions to determine what your injury or problem is; and then use modern physiotherapy techniques to assess and treat your problem.
While well known for treating sporting injuries, physios also have the skills to treat and prevent a range of health problems involving;
-
Joints, bones and soft tissue (muscles, ligaments, tendons)
-
Heart
-
Chest and lungs
-
Brain and nervous system
ACC
Yes we are ACC registered. This means we can lodge an ACC claim for you if your injury is the result of an accident. If you aren't sure we can help you decide. You don't need a referral to come to physiotherapy.
Southern Cross Easy Claim
Southern Cross Health Society Easy-claim (“Easy-claim”) is a convenient way for Southern Cross members to claim for eligible healthcare services at the time of purchase, without completing a claim form. At Tarawera Physiotherapy we have Southern Cross Easy Claim, which allows us to bill Southern Cross directly (for eligible clients). Find out more about the service here.
Why choose physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy can help you avoid surgery, reduce your medication, manage your pain and reduce the risk of injury. Physio's are highly qualified and can help you with a range of conditions and symptoms, including chronic conditions such as arthritis. Compared with many other treatments physio is also highly cost-effective and you can self refer.
