Rebecca Avery (Bex)
Hi, I'm Rebecca Avery (Pedersen), and I'm the physiotherapist/owner of Tarawera Physiotherapy. I am currently working limited hours due to our young daughter.
I grew up in Kawerau and the surrounding area until I moved to Whakatane as a teenager with my family. I have played a range of sports and at the moment my hobbies include cycling, hockey, running, swimming, spearfishing and anything that involves being in the water!
I graduated from Otago University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Credit). I spent the 2011, 2012 and 2013 cycling seasons in Europe working for the New Zealand BMX and road cycling national teams, and have also spent time working in a private practice in Whakatane for the cycling "offseasons" and all of 2014.
The opportunity arose to start my own business, and I have been operating Tarawera Physiotherapy since 2015. I love working in Kawerau, and hope to continue providing a good quality physio service to the local community for years to come!
